In this category, you have the chance to shine by creating an extreme and unique lash design! Here, you get to express your full creativity and imagination. It is completely permitted to work with longer lengths than what is normally adapted to the client's natural lashes. You choose whether you want to work with all-black lashes, colored lashes, or a mix of both. Mix different lengths, curls, and thicknesses to build your unique masterpiece. Examples of styles within Extreme Lash Design could suggestively be Kardashian look, Anime, Colored lashes, Wet look or Wispy lashes.
This is a more daring competition category for lash stylists where creativity is in focus. It is solely the lash work that will be judged (not the overall look with makeup/clothing).

- The winners will be presented during our livestream on Facebook in the group Look by Linn Awards 2026 on October 17th at 18:00 (6:00 PM CEST).
After the ceremony, you will receive your score and evaluation from our international jury.

Information about competition class:
In Extreme Lash design, everyone competes together in one and the same shared category. There is no division based on experience, all creators meet on equal terms.

The judges will score your entry based on the following criteria:
- Straightness / Application
(The extensions must be correctly applied, securely attached to the natural lash and the lashes must not cross each other)
- Amount of Glue
(Each adhesive bond must have a perfectly balanced amount of glue with consistent execution throughout)
- Distance from the Skin
(The distance from the skin to the base of the eyelash extension must be identical on all lashes throughout the full set. The recommended distance for volume lashes is 0.3–0.8 mm)
- Cleanliness
(No glue or makeup residue around the eyes. Red eyes or redness on the cornea will negatively affect your score)
- Symmetry
(Evaluation of symmetry; regardless of the chosen design, the final result must show a balanced harmony between both eyes)
- Design
(The style, length and curl must suit the model's face and eye shape)
- Inner Lashes
(Evaluation of the 10 innermost lashes. All of them must have an extension applied. Perfectly customized length, thickness, and amount of glue are required on the inner lashes)
- Outer Lashes
(Evaluation of the 10 outermost lashes. All of them must have an extension applied. Perfectly customized length, thickness, and amount of glue are required on the outer lashes)
- Coverage
(100% of the lashes must be covered, including the inner and outer corners)
- Mapping
(A correct and well-planned lash map drawn on the eyepad. The judges will evaluate how well-thought-out the work is and how accurately the final result matches the sketched plan)
- Effects / Style
(Evaluation of creativity and impact based on how well the competition entry steps away from a natural look. Focus is placed on how artistic expression has been used to shape a unique and characteristic lash set)
In this specific category, you are permitted to work with any choice of thickness and length. You can choose whether to create a set using only classic lashes, only volume lashes, or a mix of both. You are free to use black lashes, colored lashes, or a combination of both. Both clear and black adhesive are approved.
PLEASE NOTE: No forms of decorations (such as glitter, rhinestones, or similar) will be judged at all.
Pre-made fans/lashes are not allowed.
The model may wear makeup, but nothing should be applied on or near the lashes. Please read through the judging criteria carefully and make sure your entry photos clearly show all the parts the judges need to review. Each judge will provide detailed feedback on your work to help you develop as a stylist.
For the evaluation to be accurate, it is important that you submit high-contrast, sharp, and clear photos. If the work is blurry or unclear, it will result in a point deduction. The judges want to give you the fairest score possible, so take your time when creating your entry and during the photoshoot. To qualify for a podium finish (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place), a minimum score of 70% of the total points in your specific category is required.

Evaluation & Judging:
- The competition is judged by an independent jury consisting of experienced national and international experts.
- The judging is completely anonymous. All entries are coded before review and the judges have no access to the participants' names or personal details.
- The scoring system is 0–10 points, where 10 points represent the highest possible level.
- Written feedback is provided by the judges to help contestants understand their results and see how they can improve their skills.
Photographs of the Competition Entry:
- The entry must be your own work.
- The entry must be unique and cannot have participated in other competitions.
- Only single photos (no collages).
- High-resolution photos are required.
- Under no circumstances may the photos be edited or watermarked.
- Maximum of 9 photos.
- The contestant is allowed to use a professional photographer and professional lighting.
- Publishing your competition photos before October 17th will lead to disqualification.
- Models in the Classic Lashes, Volume Lashes, and Lash Lift categories must not have tattooed eyeliner.
- Models in the Brow Lift category must not have tattooed eyebrows.
- The model must not wear makeup on the skin around the working area, lashes, or brows.
General Information:
- Everyone is welcome to participate! You do not need to be trained by Look by Linn to enter.
- You are more than welcome to enter all categories of the competition, and it is also allowed to compete with multiple unique entries within the same category.
- You are allowed to compete as a trainee (trained, but not yet certified).
- The organizer reserves the right to disqualify a contestant if it turns out they have competed in the wrong category or experience level.
- The organizer is not responsible for technical issues or upload errors. It is the participant's responsibility to ensure the entry is submitted correctly.
- Participants upload their competition entries themselves to our online platform, Contest Galaxy.
- The participant must complete all work entirely by themselves. The use of AI-generated content or assistance from other people is strictly prohibited. Entries found to be created with help, or using work that does not belong to the participant, will be disqualified immediately.
- No refunds will be given in the event of disqualification. Please read all guidelines carefully before submitting.
Important Dates:
- Last day to purchase tickets: September 25th
- Last day to submit your entry on Contest Galaxy: September 26th. After this, the platform closes completely, and the option to upload photos expires. No entries will be accepted after this date.
- The winners will be presented during the award ceremony on October 17th at 18:00 (6:00 PM CEST) via the Look by Linn Awards livestream in the Facebook group ”Look by Linn Awards 2026”.
Results & Placements:
- Winning entries and all podium placements will be published with photos on our Instagram: @lookby_linnawards
- The names of the podium winners and the complete results list will be published on our website: www.lookbylinnawards.com. To protect participant privacy, all other placements will be kept completely anonymous using your unique entry number. Therefore, only the names of the top three winners will be made public.
- Shortly after the award ceremony, your scores and the jury’s full feedback will be available by logging into Contest Galaxy, on the same page where your competition photos were uploaded.
By participating in the competition and submitting photos, the contestant agrees that Look by Linn AB, including Look by Linn Awards, receives the right to use the submitted photos for marketing, informational, and communication purposes. The photos may be used without any time limit.
